The Bible says, “Pure and immaculate religion before God and the Father is this, visiting orphans and widows in their affliction” James 1:27. The Bible also says that those who help the poor lend to the Lord. God wants the church to care for the poor and needy and visit them in their afflictions. Across India, Atlanta United Telugu Church is making a great and effective difference for hundreds of children in slums and villages and in the lives of women and girls in rural and urban sectors. Slum schools and village schools are run to educate the less privileged. Through many sewing schools, women and girls are empowered and equipped for life. The Health Work project is impacting the lives of many poor people who could not afford to pay heavy medical bills in hospitals. The Poor Feeding Program and the Drinking Water Project help the oppressed in many helpful ways.
